Hey just got word today that Rufus is doing a cover of "origin of love" on the compilation album Wig in a Box, the songs of Hedwig. Tribute albums never seem to turn out well, hopefully they won't screw this one up. Anyway, it also features They Might Be Giants, Frank Black, The Breeders, Yoko Ono (!!!), Ben Folds, and Cyndi Lauper. Comes out 10/28.

Sun, May 29, 2005 - 10:13 PMI agree with the general lament of tribute albums. This one, however, is pretty good. Especially Rufus' version of Origin of Love. What was a moving song sung by Hedwig/John Cameron Mitchell is even moreso when sung by our's truly.
I am going to see him live twice this summer. Next week at the Appel Farm Festival. Then in August at Wolf Trap. -

Where, pray tell, are the Appel Farm Festival and the Wolf Trap? I'm in the Bay Area; are these places in California.
Also, Across the Universe is included as a bonus track on Poses.
I don't have the tribute album yet, just found out about it here, thanks. I would imagine Rufus would do a worthy cover of Origin of Love but I won't know until I actually hear it, that will be today! -

Mon, May 30, 2005 - 5:15 PMLah-ree'-nah ... sorry these are not in the Bay Area (or in California for that matter). The Appel Farm Festival is in New Jersey and Wolf Trap is in Vienna, Virginia (outside of DC).
The cover is great ... so enjoy it when you get it.
